Dr Subhajit Basu is Chair of British and Irish Law Education and Technology Association (BILETA) and Associate Professor, School of Law, University of Leeds. His research is primarily focused on ‘law and its relationship to technology’, particularly the ‘regulation of emerging technologies’. He is the author of the critically acclaimed book “Global Perspectives on E-Commerce Taxation Law (Ashgate, 2008) and lead author of the book “Privacy and Healthcare Data Choice of Control to Choice and Control” (Routledge, 2015).
His work in relation to cloud crimes is focused on developing an internationally accepted legal framework.
Subhajit is the lead or corresponding author of many articles and chapters in scholarly journals and books covering a variety of topics including privacy, e-commerce, data protection, cybercrime, digital divide and eGovernment.
Subhajit is Fellow of the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (FRSA); Member of the Brazilian Academy of Crime Sciences: Committee on International Cybercrime Law; Fellow of African Centre for Cyberlaw and Cybercrime Prevention (ACCP); Member of Advisory Board Centre for Cyber Victim Counselling; Fellow of the Higher Education Academy; Member of Dean’s Council, International Association of Law Schools and Managing Editor of International Review of Law Computers and Technology.
